This Queen Thing

Eastwood Writers' Group (of which I am currently the Chairman, for my sins) managed three things:

ANGELA, TREVOR AND NICK

  1. A poetry competition under the title of "Queen". My magnificent entry came nowhere.

  2. A stall on the football ground at Stag Hill, Kimberley, for a brilliant jubilee festival event.

  3. A stall on Brinsley recreation ground - next to the hall where we meet every Wednesday afternoon.

Angela Rigley and Nick Hubbard (as Jonathon Nicholas) also attended. As we all have published books, these were available for sale to the public at reduced prices.

The queen didn't turn up to any of them (We could have made room for her).

I shall have to write a story about that...

That was such an interesting perspective on what it truly means to carry yourself with confidence and grace. The way you connected inner strength with everyday choices made the message feel practical and relatable. It also made me think about how experiences like Glacier Tours can inspire that same sense of awe and empowerment, reminding us how powerful nature and personal growth can be. There’s something refreshing about blending mindset with real world inspiration. Great take on embracing your own version of royalty.
